  • “Restraint” means the control of the activity of a patient to protect the patient or others from injury by the seclusion of the patient or the use of mechanical devices. The term does not include the control of the activity of a patient by the use of mechanical supports that are used in rehabilitative situations to achieve proper body alignment.
