NAC455C.410. “Elevator” defined.

     1. “Elevator” includes, without limitation, an elevator, dumbwaiter, escalator, moving walk, wheelchair lift and related equipment. The term also includes the hoistway and hoistway enclosure of the elevator, dumbwaiter, escalator, moving walk, wheelchair lift and related equipment, and all the machinery and equipment necessary for the operation of the elevator, dumbwaiter, escalator, moving walk, wheelchair lift and related equipment.

     2. As used in this section, “hoistway enclosure” means a fixed structure, consisting of vertical walls or partitions, that isolates the hoistway from all other areas or from an adjacent hoistway and in which entrances are installed.
