NAC390.110. Procedures for selection: Establishment and approval; effect of compliance.

     1. The board of trustees of a local school district shall establish written procedures for the selection of supplemental textbooks and the resources to be used in a media center.

     2. The initial set of written procedures required by subsection 1 must be submitted to the Superintendent of Public Instruction for his or her approval. Materials selected in accordance with written procedures that have been so approved shall be deemed to satisfy the requirements of paragraph (b) of subsection 2 of NRS 390.230.

     3. Thereafter, the written procedures for selection must be submitted to the Superintendent of Public Instruction for approval at least once every 5 years, and whenever subsequent modification is proposed by the board of trustees.
