NAC391.202. Endorsement to teach computer-based applications.

  • To receive an endorsement to teach computer-based applications that include issues relating to educational technology or tools for productivity, communication and research in kindergarten through grade 12, a person must have a valid elementary, secondary or special license, a valid license to teach special education, or a valid license to teach middle school or junior high school education, and must have completed:

         1. A program, which has been approved by the Board, for teaching computer-based applications; or

         2. Twelve semester hours of course work that covered:

         (a) Educational issues relating to computers;

         (b) Methods for teaching the integration of technology with curriculum; and

         (c) Computer applications or instruction in at least three of the following application packages:

              (1) Productivity tools such as word processing, databases and spreadsheets;

              (2) Communication tools;

              (3) Research tools;

              (4) Multimedia tools; or

              (5) Other applications approved by the Board.
