NAC424.300. Approval required for person providing professional care to child to be foster parent for child.

  • If an applicant or a foster parent is providing professional care directly to a child in the custody of the agency which provides child welfare services, the applicant or foster parent can only be a foster parent for that child with the approval of the Administrator or the designee of the Administrator. Persons providing professional care include, but are not limited to:

         1. A minister who is counseling the child.

         2. A psychiatrist or psychologist who is treating the child.

         3. A social worker or mental health counselor who is counseling the child.

         4. The child’s probation officer.

         5. The child’s teacher.

         6. A physician who is treating the child.

         7. The guardian ad litem for the child.

         8. The child’s attorney.

         9. A person who is responsible for the child in his capacity as an employee providing child welfare services as defined in NRS 432B.044.
