  • “Immediate and serious threat” or “immediate jeopardy” means a situation in which corrective action within 48 hours is necessary because the failure by an outpatient facility to comply with a requirement of statute or regulation has caused, or if uncorrected is likely to cause, serious injury or harm, or even death, to a patient.
