  •      1. The authority having jurisdiction may inspect a fire sprinkler system at any time during its installation. The authority having jurisdiction may witness any tests of the system. The licensed firm shall contact the authority having jurisdiction and schedule witnessing of any required testing, including, without limitation, final acceptance tests. A person holding a certificate of registration issued by the State Fire Marshal must be on the job site and directly supervise the installation of the system.

         2. The owner of any fire sprinkler system installed in accordance with this chapter and N.F.P.A. Standard 13D, 2007 edition, shall conduct or cause to be conducted an annual test of the system. The firm that installed the system shall provide the owner with written instructions on the method of testing it. These instructions must include the location of the inspector’s test valve, which must drain to the exterior of the building, the location of the water flow alarm mechanism and the location of the riser assembly. The annual test of the system is the responsibility of the owner of the system.
