Latest version.
  •      1. No person may purchase pyrotechnics for the purposes of commercial display or prepare, handle, detonate, display or discharge fireworks or special effects without having first obtained a valid certificate of registration as a pyrotechnic operator for indoor stage, outdoor aerial, special effects or show specific. An assistant to a certified pyrotechnic operator must be under the direct supervision of the certified pyrotechnic operator.

         2. A certificate of registration is valid on May 1 or the date on which it is issued, whichever is later. If the holder of a certificate of registration does not submit the renewal application and pay the renewal fee on or before April 30 of the following year, the certificate of registration expires and the person must apply to the State Fire Marshal for an original certificate of registration.
