“Pressure-retaining item” means a boiler, pressure vessel, piping or material used for the containment of:

     1. Internal pressure;

     2. Pressure obtained from an external source;

     3. Pressure obtained by the application of heat from a direct source; or

     4. Any combination of subsections 1, 2 and 3.
