NAC534.426. Plugging of well: Artesian conditions.

Latest version.
  • If an artesian condition is encountered in any well such that water is flowing at the surface, the artesian water strata must be contained pursuant to NRS 534.060 and NAC 534.378 and the well must be sealed by placing concrete grout, cement grout or neat cement by tremie pipe in an upward direction from the bottom of the well to the surface. The owner and the lessor of the land on which the well is located, the operator of the exploration project and the drilling contractor for the project shall take the necessary steps to prevent the loss of water above or below the surface and to prevent the vertical movement of water in the well bore.
