  • Every hoofed mammal admitted or readmitted to a milk herd must be examined by an approved veterinarian and its milk must be examined by an approved bacteriologist for a bacterial count and for hemolytic streptococci and other organisms which cause mastitis. The milk of such an animal must not be allowed to enter the supply of certified milk until favorable veterinary and bacteriological reports have been received and placed in the record of the herd.
