NAC586.020. Pesticides highly toxic to humans.

  • A pesticide which falls within any of the following categories when tested on laboratory animals is highly toxic to humans:

         1. A pesticide which produces death in half or more of the test animals of any species at a dosage of 50 milligrams or less per kilogram of body weight when administered orally to 10 or more animals of the species.

         2. A pesticide which produces death in half or more of the animals of any species at a dosage of 200 parts or less by volume of the gas or vapor per million parts by volume of air when administered by continuous inhalation for 1 hour or less to 10 or more animals of the species, if that concentration is likely to be encountered by humans when the pesticide is used in any reasonably foreseeable manner.

         3. A pesticide which produces death in half or more of the animals tested at a dosage of 200 milligrams or less per kilogram of body weight when administered by continuous contact with the bare skin for 24 hours or less to 10 or more animals.
