  •      1. As used in NAC 587.500 to 587.630, inclusive, unless the context otherwise requires:

         (a) “Association” means the Association of American Feed Control Officials.

         (b) “Brand name” means any word, name, symbol or device, or any combination thereof, identifying the commercial feed of a distributor and distinguishing it from that of another.

         (c) “Distribute” means to offer for sale, sell, exchange or barter commercial feeds.

         (d) “Drug” means any article intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of diseases in animals other than humans and articles other than feed intended to affect the structure or function of the animal body.

         (e) “Ingredient” means one of the constituent materials making up a commercial feed.

         (f) “Label” means a display of written, printed or graphic matter upon or affixed to the container in which a commercial feed is distributed.

         (g) “Labeling” means all labels or other written, printed or graphic matter upon a commercial feed or any of its containers or wrapper or accompanying the commercial feed.

         (h) “Mineral feed” means a commercial feed intended to supply primarily mineral elements or inorganic nutrients.

         (i) “Official sample” means a sample of feed taken by the Director or his or her agent.

         (j) “Percent” or “percentage” means percentage by weight.

         (k) “Product name” means the name of the commercial feed which identifies it as to kind, class or specific use.

         2. The names and definitions for commercial feeds are the Official Definitions of Feed Ingredients adopted by the Association, except as the Director designates otherwise in specific cases.

         3. The terms used in reference to commercial feeds shall be the official feed terms adopted by the Association, except as the Director designates otherwise in specific cases.
