Unless otherwise specifically prohibited by federal law and pursuant to section 1504(b)(2) of the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act, an independent contractor may not engage in the activities of a residential mortgage loan originator as a loan processor or underwriter unless such independent contractor is licensed as a mortgage agent.
