SECONDARY LICENSES AND ENDORSEMENTS |
NAC391.13094. Major or minor in technology education: Requirements.
- Except as otherwise provided in NAC 391.13098:
1. The 36 semester hours of credit required for a major in technology education must include:
(a) At least 6 semester hours of credit in communication technology, including, without limitation:
(1) Electronic publishing;
(2) Lasers and fiber optics;
(3) Microcomputers;
(4) Electronics;
(5) Graphic communications;
(6) Telecommunications; and
(7) Drafting and design assisted by computer;
(b) At least 6 semester hours of credit in energy, power and transportation, including, without limitation:
(1) Alternative sources of energy;
(2) Electricity;
(3) Automotive and small engines;
(4) Systems of transportation; and
(5) Systems of fluid power;
(c) At least 6 semester hours of credit in manufacturing technology, including, without limitation:
(1) Processing of materials, including, without limitation, woods, plastics and metals;
(2) Systems of manufacturing assisted by computer;
(3) Robotics; and
(4) Machine tool technology; and
(d) At least 6 semester hours of credit in construction technology, including, without limitation:
(1) Building construction;
(2) Welding and metal fabrication; and
(3) Engineering.
2. The 24 semester hours of credit required for a minor in technology education must include course work in each of the following areas of study:
(a) Communications technology;
(b) Energy, power and transportation;
(c) Manufacturing technology; and
(d) Construction technology.
