NAC534.4375. Boreholes, blast holes and seismic shot holes: Artesian conditions.
Latest version.
- If an artesian condition is encountered in any borehole, blast hole or seismic shot hole, the artesian water strata must be contained pursuant to NRS 534.060 and NAC 534.378, and the borehole, blast hole or seismic shot hole must be sealed by placing concrete grout, cement grout, bentonite chips or neat cement by tremie pipe in an upward direction from the bottom of the borehole to the surface. The owner and lessor of the land on which a borehole is located, the operator of the exploration project and the drilling contractor for the project shall take the necessary steps to prevent the loss of water above or below the surface and to prevent the vertical movement of water in the well bore.
